Pikillaqta.-

Pikillaqta is an archaeological pre- inca group, where we will appreciate the constructions of narrow streets and stone walls covered with lime and clay. The archaeological group of Pikillaqta is located on the south of the great capital of the Inca state, in direction of the city of Puno, at an altitude of 3.350 m.a.s.l.

The original name of this area is unknown, but strangely is baptized as Pikillaqta, quechua word that means "people of fleas", took this name in the end of the colony time, although many chroniclers call this area Mohina, Muyna or Muyuna".

Formerly this sector would have been occupied by the Wari culture, which was developed in the city of Ayacucho. Wari was one of the cultures more rebels from the Inca era, Wari culture resisted to belong to the territory of the Tawantinsuyo dominated by the Incas.

The Andahuaylillas chapel.-

located in the province of Quispicanchis, department of the Cusco, is one of the most surprising samples of the Andean religious folk art.

Its history goes back to the time of the colony during the 16th century, when the Spanish Crown sends to form the so-called reductions, which consisted in bringing together all the andean countries that lived in the heights in a single sector, so as to facilitate the work of indoctrination in the catholic religion. For that reason it was made the first buildings of small temples on foundations of Incas altars, called Huacas. And also the chapel of Andahuaylillas was built under the invocation of San Pedro Apostle, that lodge many indigenous peoples from various parts of the Andean territory.

To impose the catholic religion laws, the best way to evangelize was showing biblical passages in mural paintings, that was why they painted the inner walls of the chapel with beautiful murals; this is the reason why today is considered as the "Sistine chapel of America
